Tbh this is a great love song and it’s amazing
**Felt as if it was something that Placed a hand on me Felt as if it was something that Made a fire in me
T’was as if something I’d forgotten came back Like something I lost but suddenly still had And I who never had made a woman glad Felt that I I just need to be with you**

2015.01.03 16:35 solsikker 24 [F4M] Scandinavia - Looking for a friendly chat
I apologize for the long post, but I wanted to share a little more so it wasn’t… empty?
Recently, I was an au pair in Denmark for three months. I really appreciated the opportunity, even if the family did not quite work out. Outside of the home, everyone I met was incredibly sweet, and I fell in love with the northern Zealand area. If being in the host home made me feel empty, being next to the sea and Danes was the exact opposite. I saw some of Sweden too (only Helsingborg, unfortunately), and Iceland well… I got to look at Iceland through airport windows, haha. :( Missed out on Norway and Finland.
I have been back in the USA for about two months (Midwest area), and I have missed that region of Europe a lot lately. I miss the wind… and the cyclists. And also just the atmosphere that Scandinavia had. So, it is a long shot, but I am hoping to find a fellow there to just chat about things with. :) Maybe cultural things, but it doesn’t have to be limited to that subject. I like video games (rpg, strategy, simulation games), humanities subjects, sciences… basically anything that I can learn about if the other person is friendly too. I do not really have any favorite television shows right now, but as far as that media goes, I have been on a kick of watching horror films. I do not like gore, but I tend to watch them MST3K style.
I’m mostly looking for a casual chat right now, although new friends would be great. :) Maybe even gaming buddies if that 6 hour time difference allows for it. I guess private messages at first, and we’ll go from there? And undskyld! :( My Danish and Swedish are pretty poor… unless you want to read about en opvaskemaskine eller skinke og en dyb tallerken. Or, well, Jag är en kvinna och jag dricker vatten.

2014.11.28 21:12 eleanore85 Some more Aunt Elvy journal material
I've translated some more of my childfree great aunt's life story. I didn't even try and translate the poem though, I googled it and copied. I can't translate that, any swede here willing to give it a go? Anyone?
June 15 1940
Today I decided I have waited long enough with exploring our new town. Artur is still not well but he is improving and I feel better about leaving him alone for a few hours.
I left after breakfast and walked until my feet were sore. I am determend to make friends with this place, and after today the neighbourhood around our home is no longer foregin ground.
I know the houses and the streets, the little corner shops and the lovely smell of fresh bread coming from the bakery. I will walk those streets until the sound of the city is a part of me, I will make London my home.
I need to start with learning the language better. I found a bookshop but they offered nothing with Swedish translations. I must ask Henning to lend me his books.
I also walked across a great bridge (the water smelled terrible) and I saw a policeman dragging a woman away from the edge, she was pale as a ghost. I assume she was about to jump off the bridge.
I wonder what makes a person want to do such a thing? Even if life has been cruel to you, surely you want to know what happens next? In all great novels, the hero must endure great horrors in order to finally win and triumph! If you give up you never get to read the next chapter. Perhaps she wasn’t a reader.
I plan to walk further every day. I will continue until I have made this damp and gloomy town my own. I want to be able to smile at people and greet them with their names. I want to hear their stories and tell them mine. First I must master their language! I must hurry!
June 17 1940
I have the best man in the world. I can’t believe my luck. He knows that I find the dark threatning at night, it makes me feel as if we are waiting for the sound of Luftwaffe to reach us – like a wolf growling before it bites. I know they could be out there, lurking and waiting.
So he chase away the silence and the dark by singing my favourite poems to me. The other night he sang something I have never heard before, a poem by Dan Andersson. As he sings sweet promises into my soul it is impossible not to listen. There is nothing better in the world than falling asleep in his arms, listning to his voice. I could be happy anywhere with him. I could never smile again if I lost him. Loving someone this much is living with your heart outside of your body.
I wrote down the poem to remember it awalys. This was possibly the most caring thing anyone ever done for me.

In English (my language):
Is anyone in Stockholm and likes to go to the National History museum? There is a bit in the 17th C. part that talks about Ulrika Eleonora Stålhammar who joined the Swedish Army in drag and married a woman...pretty cool stuff - anyways, on the wall behind her wedding ring is a poem written about her with the common refrain "like a man" & "like a woman" which was basically about her perspective on love and war as a (presumed) lesbian/transgender in the 17th C.
If anyone is in that area, could you copy the poem down and paste it below? I was in Stockholm 2 weeks ago and wrote it down but lost the piece of paper it was on!!! And apparently google can't find it for me either!

|Questions ||Answers |
|How much money have you made on the Swedish Meal Time series? ||Only enough to not having to pay for the food we buy, and also buy extra props if needed (an axe, or license for music etc). But one really important thing, which have been important from day one, and still is: We are not in it for the cash. We have turned down LOTS of offers to make money on this in different ways (like real much money) but its not about that. We are doing this to entertain. I am more afraid to make you boored than making less money. |
|Thats awesome man. ||It's the truth, brother! |
|How can get sexy Swedish lady? ||Eat mayo, pillage and destroy stuff. They shall come when you are ready. |
|Oi, dont forget the helm! ||Yeah, preferably with big ass horns! |
|Big-ass horns or big ass-horns? ||Whatever floats your boat! |
|What started the rivalry between you and Mr. Fox? ||He cheated while we were playing cards. |
|Have he touched any of the mayo?? ||I sure as hell hope not! |
|Does Swedish Mayo taste better than American Mayo? ||I definitely think so. (I have experience) |
|Do people from your country see you as a celebrity, or do they even know about your show? ||People that actually have seen and enjoy it really do. Others just see me as a bearded loud scary potential-rapist man. |
|Have you had any interaction with the guys at Epic Meal Time? ||Yes, and quite recently as well! |
|Please, continue. ||Top secret! |
|What kind of interaction? What do they say about ROSMT, do they like it? Do you plan any kind of collaboration in the future? ||My impression of a chat we had with them recently was that they enjoy and support what we do. Regarding your second question, I can't give you an answer right now. |
|I live in Umeå. Do you want to come over and have sex? Viking style! ||Sorry, my better half wouldnt approve! |
|Violent and faithful! ||Ofc! |
|Any chance to see you in Sundsvall? Cooking, not sex. ||I wouldnt count on it, sorry! |
|When you make all of those dishes, I notice you tend to do things that normal chefs do not. Eggshells in the dishes, biting the skins off of potatoes, etc. And a lot of those things are unsanitary. I was wondering, do you have two separate sets of ingredients? Like one for destroying and then one for actually making the dish? ||We have only had that kind of setup 2 times, during the pancake episode and for flying jacob (where the chicken was on the floor). |
|What about Christmas episode? the eggs were smashed and then magically appeard to be whole. And "rödbetsallad" is it really to put some "gräddfil" and then it's good to go? ||Well, the eggs as I've mentioned before is obviously not usable after they are smashed. The rödbetssallad was somewhat of a Swedish TRICK. |
|Great show! How much time do you spend cleaning shooting each video? ||From idea to finished video = around 12 hours. |
|Are you a gamer? If so what games do you play? and have you ever been to a big LAN event like Dreamhack? ||Oh yes, definitely! At the moment, I am playing A LOT of Dota 2, as well as BF3 and Tera Online (the beta atm etc). I am also much into retro style games, like Attack of the Titans etc. |
|Börk Börk Börk? ||Bork Bork Bork? |
|I'll just get this one out of the way early: When will you be releasing new episodes? ||You might have seen, or not, that me and Niklas are studying at a masters program in Skellefteå, Sweden, called crossmedia interaction design, and it is really hard work and a lot of time is spent at the uni. Thats the main reason we arent releasing episodes, we don't have time. Either way, we are really aiming to have something for you guys soon, I'd say within 2-3 weeks hopefully! |
|WHAT? But I totally saw Niklas' face plastered all over Umeå Uni's papers and posters. How is that possible if he's not going there?? ||I am still at UmU, but they have a small part of the campus in Skellefteå as well. :) |
|How did you get the idea for the channel? ||Isak, the co-founder, actually asked me if we could film me cooking some food violently (as an homage/parody on EpicMealTime), so in the end its his idea basically. |
|So, it wasn't a homage to Torkel Petersson's cooking in Farsan? EDIT: for the lazy ||Well no, but this video obviously is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqB0ni_Wsi0. |
|Hey, whattabout In Flames, Amon Amarth, At The Gates.. (and so on..)?! ||Yeah, totally enjoy those bands! |

|How do you prepare for your shows? Or are you just nucking futs to begin with? ||50/50! Careful planning, and devoted rage. |

|Is it a coincidence that Mr. Fox is Mayo-colored? ||Now that you say it... Mother of God..... |
|How much money does the King of Sweden give to fund each of these children's cultural education videos? ||Just enough! (lagom) |
|Hur vågar du översätta detta oöversättliga ord?! Bevara mystiken mannen!! ||Well, swedish is the only language in the world that can say just enough with one word l. |
|How's the beard? ||Growing.. Waiting... |
|Do you like mayonnaise? ||Of course! ( no joke! ) |
|What is the difference between Swedish Mayonnaise and the Regular Style? Also, my 15-year old brother absolutely WORSHIPS your show. I bought him a shirt - - is there any way you could autograph it? ||I dont understand your question! Email [email protected] and we might work something out! |
|GRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHH?!?! ||Had your mayo, I assume? |
|Did anyone attack you for wasting food? ||Not really. The other way around! |
|The food attacked you for wasting people? ||Naa, but people are attacking us for not "wasting" enough food! But I guess food attacking us is inevitable.. |
|Do you actually listen to metal? What bands?! ||Yes! In Flames are great, and other than that, I'm an "all-consumer"! |
|Did you expect this kind of response when you first posted the first video online? Also, what episode was the most fun to film? ||Absolutely not! Its been great receiving (not much) but devoted attention. We really think all our subscribers are awsome <3. |
|Who owns Mr. Fox and where did you get him? ||Tom's parents. And I don't know! |
|Are you guys still at UMU? I used to see you in the MIT-building cafeteria before I graduated last summer. Do they still serve rat poison flavored coffee in those awful paper cups? ||Yes, but in Skellefteå at a masters. And yes, the coffee there isnt swedish at all. |
|What does your mother think about your videos? ||Well, she think its great that we have received such attention, but she denies me as her son. (as a joke ofc) |
|How come you haven't made a Tunnbrödsrulle yet? ||Aaaaw, now you made me SO hungry thinking about that! Hmm... Actually... |
|What's your favourite dish? ||In our show: Superior Smörgåscake http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYBkDxao3wg . IRL: Spaghetti Bolognese, the one mom makes, hehe! |
|Kebab or moose meat? ||Both really! |
|The Stomachless Sticky Cake told us you'd be speaking Finnish in the next episode. What happened? ||Well, we've said a lot of "next time" etc. But people keep reminding us of this one... brain activates |
|Who cleans up the mess you make? :o. ||We all do it together. |
|Can we get a video that shows the cleanup? Also has anyone gotten sick from eating something you made in the show? ||I think you can see some in the behind the scenes videos actually! And no, all food have been delicious! |

|I'm meeting up with Nice Peter next month. |So has mayonnaise always been the aphrodisiac that fuelled Viking bezerkers in battle? And is this common Swedish knowlage that Mayo induces these raging cooking powers or did you make this discovery? ||Its quite common. We dont breastfeed etc. We consume mayo and gain power that way. |
|What do you feel about IKEA? Are there IKEAs where you live? How does the IKEA meatballs compare to your meatballs? ||IKEA is great! The quality differs depending on how much you spend of course. The beds they sell are actually top notch, got 2 of em myself. There arent any IKEAs in my city, but if I go by car either north or south, its a 3.5-4 hour drive to the closest one. However, they are discussing building one in Umeå, which would mean 1.5 hour drive instead. The meatballs there are actually great and very cheap :3. |

|So, I absolutely love your show, but do you think you can put in subtitles for the non-Swedish speaking viewers like me? ||No not really. I've answered it before, keep reading! :) |
|Is that mayonnaise? ||Well, I dont know, but if it, it has to be GOOD FOR YOU. |
|I've been a fan for a super long time and I think it's awesome that you're taking the time to answer each question and comment. My question is: Where do you get your cooking ideas/recipes? Does most of your food turn out as good as you expect? ||We are just brainstorming at the moment. Most food have been close to the result we have expected, and the Smörgåscake was beyond what we expected! It was SO GOOD! |
|A spoon full of mayo a day keeps the Viking plunderers away! Of you want you can use that on a t-shirt or something. Have you considered frying globs of mayonnaise like a funnel cake? ||Well, thats more EpicMealTime work, tbh! ;) |
